Abstrak Chapter 1 deals with the theories of seepage. In addition to the well known theories advocated by Bligh and Khosla the author has dealt in detail the theories of exit gradients and uplift pressures developed by him. It is hoped that these methods will be found more useful and easy to apply. Chapters 2 and 4 describe the component parts of diversion handworks and the design procedure of a weir or a barrage. The various energy dissipation arrangements being adopted in India as per ISI Standards, are dealt with in Chapter 3. Chapter 5 gives the design procedures for cross regulators and head regulators for different type of falls, with special reference to the method evolved by the Punjab Irrigation Department (Central Design Office (CDO) method) is given in Chapter 6. Chapter 7 deals with the design of cross-drainage works in accordance with Indian Standards.
